Classless Hero v5c41
Chapter 41 – I would definitely clear his name from the stigma
“Layla, can you assist me with magic?” (Ark)
“Unn, kay!” (Layla)
“Divine Steps.” (Ark)
I flew right to the front of Atlas’ face, ignoring the distance between us.
Unlike “Rapid Movement,” “Divine Steps” is superior to it, this skill is capable of instantaneous movement not only on flat surfaces but also in three dimensions.
Atlas’s eyes widened in surprise at my sudden appearance in front of it.
“Huh! he’s gone!?”
“L, look! Over there!”
“Wha? When did he get there!?”
In the midst of the astonished shouts from the ground, I struck a slash at Atlas’ neck.
Zuban!
There was a violent sound, but at most it only caused a meter-long gash in Atlas’ thick, hard neck.
As could be expected from a creature of its size, it seemed to have good defenses.
In addition, since it was undead, it didn’t feel any pain.
It immediately swung its arm and tried to knock me down.
Buon!
“””~~!?”””
“””Uwaa!?”””
I quickly evaded it by kicking in the air, but the storm that ensued hit everyone on the ground and blew some of them away.
“This guy” (Ark)
I gave Atlas a thrust to the eye socket.
“Aaaahhhhh!?”
He was getting impatient after his vision was deprived, and it let out a yell.
“Meteor Strike!” (Layla)
Then a huge mass fell from the sky.
Layla invoked the pinnacle of yellow magic spell, Meteor Strike.
Dogooooon!
The meteorites hit Atlas right in the face with a tremendous impact sound.
Its huge body was flipped over by the force, and its head was hit to the ground.
“Uwa…” (Ark)
Its head was severely dented and the meteorites were completely stuck in there. It was creepy.
Normally, its head would have exploded, but the fact that it was able to get away with just it suggested that it had an incredibly hard skull.
Still, it was an undead that transcended death.
Atlas was already trying to get up.
“Divine Space Slash x10.” (Ark)
“Permafrost!” (Layla)
In order to prevent this from happening, I rained down the “Divine Space Slash” from above.
Layla, on the other hand, used the frigid cold air to freeze Atlas in place, to block its movements.
Eventually, she succeeded in trapping Atlas in the ice completely.
Okay, all that was left was to purify this creature.
It will take some time, as expected for such a big creature.
“Layla, I’ll leave the purification to you. I’ve found the cause, so I’ll get rid of it.” (Ark)
“Oka~y!” (Layla)
I asked Layla to take care of it and left.
There are still a few monsters left besides Atlas, but I’m sure everyone else can handle them.
I sprinted through the gaps between the trees.
The reason why we didn’t immediately purify Atlas, but instead blocked its movement, was so that I could trace the magic that was being supplied.
I ran through a distance of about a kilometer in a matter of seconds and finally found the culprit.
“What the hell is going on there? Could it be that all those undead were killed by some mere humans!? And Atlas’ reaction is getting weaker and weaker…….!?”
The guy who was shouting out with several undead monsters in tow was a man who seemed to be a demon.
He seemed to be a necromancer.
“I’m sorry if I’m upsetting you, but I’d appreciate it if you’d take notice of me by now.” (Ark)
“!?”
I called him out, then he turned to look at me.
“Wha……, wh, when did you get here?”
“Ummm, you’re a demon, right? What are you doing in this forest?” (Ark)
“How the hell did you find me?”
“I want you to answer a question.” (Ark)
The demon retreated to get some distance from me.
“I, isn’t it obvious!? To take revenge on you humans!”
“Revenge?” (Ark)
“That’s right! Four years ago, my master invaded the city, but he was killed by humans!”
Master? Could it be that old man?
He was a human, but he was a necromancer who was an executive of the Demon Lord’s Army.
“But I just couldn’t accept it! I just can’t believe that my Master would be defeated by mere humans!”
I’m the one who defeated him tho…
“Therefore, I swore on behalf of my master that I would definitely clear his name from the stigma! I’ve been carefully preparing this for the past four years!”
I see.
So it’s the reason behind a large number of monsters and atlas.
The high orc that we encountered outside the forest the other day must have gotten out of the control of this necromancer for some reason and went out of the forest.
“But, when I was going to test them and kill all the humans that showed up in this forest and use them as pawns for my long-cherished wishes…… What the hell is going on here?”
“It seems to me that your plan has ended in failure.” (Ark)
“Failure!? It’s impossible! There is no way that that many undead monsters can be defeated by that many humans!”
“No, I think you should accept the reality.” (Ark)
“Shut up! You all, get rid of this human brat!”
“””Oaaaaaaaaa!”””
The undead monsters, who had been quiet until now, attacked all at once.
“Holy Cross” (Ark)
“””Aaaaaaa!?”””
I showered them with purifying light and annihilated them all at once on the spot.
“Im, impossible…?”
The necromancer demon was stunned as his subordinates were easily annihilated.
Since there were so many openings, I closed the gap and launched a diagonal slash to his shoulder.
“Gyaaaaaaaaaa !?”
There are no other disciples, are there…?
